Dante
Alighieri Cultural Center Welcomes Statue
Boston,
Massachusetts - A new solemn, inspiring figure stands
in the main entrance patio of the Dante Alighieri
Italian Cultural Center of Cambridge.
A seven-foot-three
inch tall statue of the most famous Italian poet Dante
Alighieri, from whom the Dante Alighieri Society ,
which owns and operates the center, takes its name,
is now there to welcome its visitors.

However,
this reproduction of the author of the “Divine Comedy”,
the biggest in North America, will be seen by a far
greater number of people. In fact, worldwide famous
Italian movie director, Folco Quilici and his crew
were among the cheering crowd. Quilici, whose name
is linked to some of the best documentaries on nature
and wildlife ever produced in Italy, is currently
working, on behalf of the Italian government, on a
movie about the influence of Italian culture in America.
Only five ‘Dante Alighieri’ chapters (out of the over
400) around the world were chosen as examples of such
influence.
